The aim is to shorten working hours for everyone, from the current 40-hour week.
"We see that Sweden is becoming increasingly alone in Europe in working so hard," party leader Nooshi Dadgostar said at a press conference.
However, she does not want to call the requirement final.
While the investigation is ongoing, V wants to give unions and employers the opportunity to resolve the issue themselves through negotiations. As late as yesterday, however, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise flatly refused to do so.
Dadgostar sees a good opportunity to get the proposal heard.
"LO has talked about it this week, the Green Party has talked about it, and a Social Democratic working group has talked about it. There is unusually high pressure on this issue."
