It is part of the bill that the government hammered out today.
Since August 1, new permits for certain semi-automatic weapons, such as the AR-15, for hunting have no longer been granted. This is a consequence of the debate following the mass shooting in Örebro.
The government's legislative council's referral also means other changes to the Weapons Act. Five-year permits for target shooting will be abolished. It will also become easier to store weapons in a place other than the owner's home.
The legal changes will apply from May 1. The government also intends to return this spring with a new weapons regulation that will significantly expand the weapons wardrobe.
