The Danish state and the state-owned Danish pension administrator ATP have agreed to buy 59.4 percent of the shares in Københavns Lufthavne A/S, which operates the airport Kastrup, writes the Danish Ministry of Finance in a press release.
The price tag lands at around 32 billion Danish kronor (equivalent to 50 billion kronor).
If the deal is finalized – which depends on regulatory approvals – the Danish state will own a total of 98 percent of the shares in Københavns Lufthavne A/S going forward.
Currently, the Danish state owns 39.2 percent of the shares.
The agreement has been reached since the Danish government entered into an agreement with several other Danish parties, giving a mandate to buy a majority stake of the shares in the company.
