"The Conclave" and "The Brutalist" were awarded at Bafta

"The Conclave" and "The Brutalist" were the winners at this year's Bafta gala – with four prizes each. Swedish-Iranian Ali Abbasi's film "The Apprentice" went away empty-handed.

The "Konklaven" was named best film and "Emilia Perez" best film in a non-English language. Also, "Brutalisten" received one of the most prestigious awards, as Brady Corbet was named best director.

Two actors from Abbasi's film "The Apprentice", the film about Donald Trump's early career, were nominated. Sebastian Stan in the category best male lead, and Jeremy Strong for best supporting role, but instead Adrian Brody and Kieran Culkin were awarded.

The best female actress became Mikey Madison, for "Anora", while Zoe Saldana from "Emilia Perez" was named best supporting actress.

"The Apprentice" could also have taken home the category best casting, but it went to "Anora".

Additionally, "Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story" was named best documentary, best original screenplay went to "A real pain" by Jesse Eisenberg and best adapted screenplay to Peter Straughan for "Konklaven".
