After increasing continuously since November, the flu curve has now turned downward. The number of reported cases decreased by about a third in week two compared to the week before, according to the latest statistics from the Public Health Agency of Sweden.
But the danger is not over, and, according to the agency, the spread of infection could pick up again as people return to school and work after the weekend.
During week two, 1,450 cases of influenza A, the predominant strain, were detected, compared to 2,143 the week before. The number of COVID-19 cases also decreased.
However, the number of cases of RSV continues to increase, mainly among the elderly.
