Superstar Taylor Swift's latest album "The life of a showgirl" which is released on Friday has been recorded in Sweden. Ahead of the release, the expectations from the fans – swifties – are sky-high, and the speculations about the content are intense.

I think it's going to be such a party album. I hope it's going to be banger after banger after banger, says megaswiftie Petra Huisman.

Huisman is the artistic leader of Inkonst in Malmö and also runs the Taylor Swift club "Ready for it". She has been a swiftie since "before it became cool" and has high expectations for her idol's twelfth studio album "The life of a showgirl".

Not least because Swift has collaborated with Max Martin and Shellback. The last time Swift worked with the Swedish producers was on "Reputation", four albums ago. This time, the album has also been recorded in Sweden.

I think that swifties in Sweden have never been as patriotic as now. This album could sound like anything and still become the great pride of swiftie-Sweden, says Petra Huisman.

"Become completely crazy"

The pre-hype for "The life of a showgirl" has been designed to maximize fan engagement, as Swift has released more and more "easter eggs" - clues - about what the album might be about.

The speculations have only become crazier since the star began planning her puzzle pieces several years ahead, says Petra Huisman.

It has become completely crazy. I understand that people think we are a sect.

After the heavy "The tortured poets department" (2024), much suggests that "The life of a showgirl" will be more glamorous and party-oriented, but at the same time a "liberation album on many different levels" according to Petra Huisman.

She refers, among other things, to the fact that Taylor Swift, after several years of struggles, has managed to buy back the original recordings from her early albums.

She has taken control of her narrative and just become freer in her creation, says Huisman.

"Deeper undertone"

One of the songs is named after the film star Elizabeth Taylor. What do you think it might mean?

Already on "Tortured poets department", she referred to Clara Bow, Stevie Nicks and Patti Smith in a look back at how the industry has been towards women from a patriarchal perspective. My feeling is that she continues on that track, says Petra Huisman, who also hopes that the new album will be more political.

But poetically political. The party will be in focus, but I think there will be quite a few of her songs that have a deeper undertone.

"The life of a showgirl" will be released on October 3.
