A taxi driver is suspected of having blocked two ambulances on their way to an emergency in Bunkeflostrand in southern Malmö. The man is now being prosecuted for sabotage against emergency services, reports Sydsvenskan.

The drama occurred in September last year. The ambulances had rushed out to a person with cardiac arrest. On a narrow road, a taxi was ahead of them.

According to the ambulance personnel, the taxi driver did not let the ambulances pass despite blue lights and sirens. Instead, he drove very slowly and in a zigzag pattern to hinder them.

It wasn't until after nearly 300 meters that the ambulances managed to get past.

One of the people in one of the ambulances took a picture of the taxi, and through the registration number, the driver could be identified.

The man, who has extensive experience in the taxi industry, is being prosecuted for sabotage against emergency services and reckless driving. He denies all allegations.

The patient who had suffered cardiac arrest survived.
