In recent weeks, tens of thousands of Afghans have been deported from Pakistan, and Islamabad's goal is to have 800,000 Afghans who are in Pakistan leave the country by the end of April. According to Pakistan, nearly 85,000 Afghans have crossed the border from Pakistan, often with testimonies of oppression and arbitrary arrests they have been subjected to.
Islamabad announced on Friday that the deadline for deportations will not be changed.

The border tension has increased, with recurring clashes, since the Taliban regime took power in Kabul in 2021.
