The man is said to have poured gasoline on the house and set it on fire at half past five in the morning. As payment, he would receive 20,000 Norwegian kronor, equivalent to approximately 18,800 Swedish kronor, according to the indictment.
There were four people in the house. Two of them were children, and they were sleeping. So it is naturally very serious, says prosecutor Trude Antonsen to NRK.
The man, who is 20 years old, is said to have been recruited by another Swede, a 21-year-old who is also being prosecuted in the same case. The crime is said to have been commissioned by a 26-year-old Norwegian who is internationally wanted, and a 31-year-old Norwegian man is said to have assisted with, among other things, transportation, according to the indictment.
The police suspect that the man who commissioned the crime had a conflict with someone in the house.
There may be slightly different motives for them. But the underlying motive is probably economic, and it is claimed to be debts, says Antonsen.
