On its website, the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) writes that in connection with the extension of the player agreement for the national football teams beyond 2025, it has strengthened support for parenthood.
The purpose is to facilitate and create conditions for players to combine parenthood with national team play.
"We have had a good dialogue with our players and it feels natural to take the next step when it comes to increased opportunities and support for players who are young parents", says football manager Kim Källström.
"Our ambition is always to create the best possible conditions for our players to succeed athletically and this is an important way to do so."
Among other things, SvFF will work to ensure that players who are guardians of children under the age of four, when needed, are offered, for example, economic support for childcare or the opportunity to bring children and a partner, relative or other close person to gatherings that the player is called to.
