Swedish Football Association Ends Partnership with Agent Rune Hauge

Agent Rune Hauge has sold TV rights to the Swedish Football Association for almost 30 years. Now, the Swedish Football Association chooses to break with the Norwegian. This has emerged from a dialogue between the association and the company, says the new Swedish Football Association chairman Simon Åström to Olof Lundhs podcast.

Rune Hauge has long been a controversial figure in Swedish football. The 71-year-old agent has previously been banned by Fifa for bribing Arsenal's then-manager George Graham to buy two of his players in 1995.

The Norwegian has also earned a lot of money by selling TV rights to the association – compensation that the Swedish Football Federation (SvFF) still pays to Rune Hauge and his company Profile Media – which goes to the tax haven Guernsey, according to TV4's Football Channel.

That's it for now.

I can confirm that we, together with Rune Hauge's company, have made a decision to end this cooperation when the current contract period expires (2028, reds anm),

Says Simon Åström.

Åström cannot answer who will handle sales for SvFF in the future at the moment.
