Criticism of Monday's Swedish performance in the World Championship qualifying match in Pristina has been severe. But in some cases, the reactions have crossed the boundary of what is allowed, believes the Swedish Football Association.
Several comments on social media will now be reported to the police, says security chief Martin Fredman.
Not everyone is automatically punishable but more in affect with meanness. But a number cross the boundary to unlawful threats and harassment. It is these comments that we are looking at now and that we will report to the police, says Fredman to TV4's Fotbollskanalen.
He does not want to say who has been the target of the posts that will be reported to the police.
I do not want to comment on different names. But we have looked at our account for the national team and on players' and leaders' accounts.
The Swedish men's national team has started the World Championship qualifying campaign with 2–2 away against Slovenia and 0–2 away against Kosovo, and now has a difficult road to the World Championship in North America next year.
