Supertalents Jacob Hölting Nilsson, 20, and Elmer Andersson, 18, went all the way on home ground in Malmö after defeating the Germans Momme Lorenz and Tilo Rietschel in the final with 2–0 in sets.
After easily winning the first set with 21-14, the second set was much tougher and the Swedes fell behind.
However, they quickly pulled themselves together, turned it around to 21-17 and could call themselves winners on the World Tour in front of their home audience, which the talents appreciated.
It's obvious that it's special to play at home in front of a full audience, says Hölting Nilsson to SVT after the match.
Just like earlier during the competition weekend in Malmö, the Swedes got their game to work also in the final.
It was a clearly better team we met now than in the semi. Our game worked fairly well. They missed almost half of their serves, so it went smoothly, says Elmer Andersson.
The more well-known Swedish duo, Olympic Games champions David Åhman and Jonathan Hellvig, also participated in the competition but were forced to withdraw before their semi-final due to an injury to Hellvig.
