Sweden has advanced to the semifinals of the Women's Junior World Championship in Cape Breton, Canada. 15-year-old Tilia Lindgren was the standout with two goals and two assists as Sweden defeated Slovakia 7–2 in the quarterfinals.

Sweden won JVM gold on the men's side some time ago, and now the women are chasing a medal in their JVM, a tournament for players under 18 years of age.

Tilia Lindgren, Björklöven, is the second youngest on the team at 15 years old - but already a key player.

She accounted for two goals and two assists in a match where Sweden pulled ahead in the second period, when the team went from 1–0 to 4–1.

Who Sweden will face in the semifinals will only be decided tonight, local time in Sweden, but top-seeded USA is a possible opponent if the quarterfinals go without a hitch.

Sweden has missed out on a medal in the last two JVM tournaments. Its last medal came on home soil in Östersund in 2023 when it won silver after losing in the final to Canada.
