In the Companies Act, it states that they should strive to make a profit. This means that all schools operated as limited companies should prioritize profit interests, says Andersson to the newspaper.
The statement follows the School Commission's partial report, presented on Monday, where the investigator Joakim Stymne proposed restrictions on the right to distribute profits from independent schools and preschools, but no comprehensive profit ban.
Andersson says to DN that the fundamental problem, namely the profit interest as a driving force, remains even after the proposals in the report.
Profit withdrawals will always take resources from education and cost taxpayers money, says the S leader.
Education Minister Johan Pehrson (L) said in connection with the presentation of the partial report that "speculators should get out of school with their heads held high".
The Social Democrats have previously proposed that school companies should be prohibited from taking out profits, and that an establishment stop for new profit-driven independent schools should be introduced.
