The parties are fighting to attract new voters, but equally important is retaining those who have traditionally voted for the party.
Statistics Sweden's surveys measure where in the population the parties have their strongest support. Novus also conducted surveys on voter profiles for each party in May 2025.
What needs to be taken into account is that estimates for smaller parties are statistically more sensitive. But here is what each party's stereotypical voter looks like:
Social Democrats (S): A woman in middle age or older than 65. The party generally has greater support among foreign-born people than among native-born people. Important issues are healthcare, education and the labour market. According to Novus, the household income of 43 percent of S voters was over 600,000 kronor a year.
Sweden Democrats (SD): A man of working age, around 50-64 years old, often living outside the big cities without post-secondary education. Support for the party is greater among native-born people than foreign-born people. Prioritises issues such as immigration and integration, law and order, and healthcare. Forty-four percent had a household income of over 600,000 kronor.
Moderates (M): A man of working age living in a big city or affluent suburb. No clear differences in support in terms of educational level. The party has greater support among native-born people. Sees law and order, the country's economy, immigration and integration as priority issues. Fifty-five percent of voters had a household income of over 600,000 kronor.
Left Party (V): A woman under 50 with higher education living in a larger city. Support for the party is greater among those born abroad. Priority issues are school and education, climate and healthcare. Thirty-seven percent had a household income of over 600,000 kronor.
