Romania's Sorina Grosav ran back in defense but collided with her goalkeeper when both were watching the ball.
After the crash, she lay down and medical personnel rushed onto the field. So did players and leaders with towels and blankets to cover the medical effort, before she was carried out on a stretcher.
However, after a few hours, a positive message came.
"Sorina Grosav was unconscious for a while after the double collision in the end of the match (first the goalkeeper's shoulder in the head, then the goalkeeper's knee in the head when the goalkeeper fell over her) but was fully conscious and fully able to speak when she was taken to the hospital", writes the Swedish national team in a press release and continues:
"She is now back with the team after being examined and X-rayed and has escaped without any serious injury".
Historic Roberts
When the match was interrupted, Sweden was leading 36-28.
The incident toned down the intended celebrations for Jamina Roberts after the match.
For tonight, she celebrated as the player with the most national team matches on the women's side in history, 255 matches.
The 34-year-old has jersey number eight and in the eighth minute, the game stopped and the veteran received a standing ovation from the audience in Nyköping.
"Proud"
There were greetings on the big screen from Isabelle Gulldén, Mia Hermansson Högdahl, Tina Flognman, Nathalie Hagman (who was also on the field) and Åsa Mogensen, whom Roberts now surpassed in the number of national team matches.
She also received gifts from the Swedish national team management and Romania.
Before the match, she told SVT that the historic record is something big.
If you stop for a moment, it's clear that it's many matches and something I'm proud of, she said.
Sweden will meet Romania again in a training match in two days. This is a preparation for the upcoming World Championship qualification in early April.
