Sweden, together with a large number of countries, has signed a declaration of intent on an agreement for the exchange of information regarding real estate, the Ministry of Finance writes in a press release.

"The aim is to strengthen controls and combat tax fraud and tax crime," the ministry writes.

"The agreement means that the other countries will be able to inform whether persons resident in Sweden have ownership of or income from real estate in the country and in such cases how much money is involved. The Swedish Tax Agency will then be able to use that information in its controls," the ministry adds.
