On the evening of September 27, 2023, an 18-year-old man was shot dead at a sports field in Fruängen in southern Stockholm. Several children were at the sports field at the time. Videos of the murder were later released.
Later that night, a microwave oven filled with 13 kilos of dynamite was left between two townhouses in Fullerö outside Uppsala. The target was likely a relative of gang leader Rawa Majid, but in the powerful explosion a 24-year-old woman in the neighboring house was so badly injured that she died.
These are just some of the serious violent crimes that the now-extradited Ildar Galiyev is suspected of having instigated through encrypted chats from his exile in Greece under aliases such as "Scar" and "Muerte".
Be a "hitman"
He has been charged in absentia with more than 20 crimes. The majority took place in 2023 and 2024 during the height of the wave of violence in Stockholm. Many of the young perpetrators have been arrested and convicted of the crimes, while Galiyev himself managed to escape until he was arrested and given a prison sentence in Greece, which he has now served.
The 25-year-old Ildar Galiyev was born in Kazakhstan but grew up with his family in Enskededalen in southern Stockholm. He has been convicted of several drug offences and attempted extortion. According to SVT, he was the subject of social services measures at an early age and was suspected of serious crime at the age of 13.
He is considered to be high-ranking in the criminal Dalen network, where he has been singled out as a torpedo. When he was arrested in Greece, he was wearing a gold piece of jewelry inscribed "sicario", meaning "assassin", Expressen reported.
Connect to Einár
He has been linked to several violent acts in addition to those he is now suspected of.
Several media outlets have reported that he is seen as a potential suspect in the investigation into the unsolved murder of rapper Einár on October 21, 2021. Previously, "Scar" had been friends with Einár, appeared in his music videos and was mentioned in some of the rapper’s lyrics. According to information provided to SVT, the police are now planning to question him about the murder.
In 2022, he was detained on suspicion of the murder of a 43-year-old father of two in Farsta Strand on October 12, 2021. According to the police, the incident was a so-called shooting accident and a 16-year-old boy was also seriously injured. The then-21-year-old Galiyev was released after six weeks due to lack of evidence, the newspaper Mitti reported at the time.
