On Thursday, the Riksdag voted against Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson as prime minister in the first formal test of a candidate in the chamber since election night.
Since then, the Speaker has been holding informal talks with the parties. At 1:30 p.m. today, Monday, he will hold a press conference to announce the next step in the process.
Norlén has urged the parties to talk to each other, with or without exploratory missions.
The opposition parties - the Social Democrats, the Left Party, the Centre Party and the Green Party - which together hold a parliamentary majority, have so far been deadlocked.
