We have reached parliamentary agreement on the review of the Swedish climate goals 2030, says the chairman of the Environmental Objectives Committee Christofer Fjellner (The Moderate Party).
The committee's task has, among other things, been to review the intermediate targets for Swedish climate policy and link them to the EU's regulatory framework.
This in turn also leads to our climate policy becoming more comprehensible but also more effective when we do not measure, control and aim for different things in Sweden and Europe, says Fjellner.
The details of what they have agreed on, Fjellner does not want to go into. But according to TV4 News the eight parties agree that emissions from, among other things, traffic, agriculture, heating of houses should be reduced by 60 percent by 2030 compared to the level in 2005 – the same reference year as the EU uses.
The committee has also been tasked with looking at the Swedish transport target and the mandate and task of the Climate Policy Council. The task will be reported to the government next Thursday.
