Sweden and other countries with a coastline along the Baltic Sea and the North Sea will tighten controls on vessels in the Russian so-called shadow fleet, the Finnish Foreign Ministry announced in a press release.
The announcement comes in connection with a defense meeting in Estonia's capital Tallinn, the JEF meeting. Other countries – apart from Sweden and Estonia – that have agreed on joint measures are the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, and Poland.
Among other things, regular checks of insurance certificates of oil tankers used by Russia will be carried out.
