When almost all votes have been counted, Støre and his party colleagues could note that they have once again become Norway's largest party, with around 28 percent of the votes. This at the same time as the right-wing populist Progress Party makes its best election ever and becomes the second largest party with around 24 percent.
It shows that it is possible for social democrats to win elections even when right-wing forces are on the rise in Europe, says Støre.
He states that it, like the last few months, will be a one-party government, but that he will listen to the other parties in the bloc.
Now an Labour Party government continues, he says.
Focus will, according to the prime minister, be on wallet issues.
We will manage the economy in a safe way. We will introduce a Norwegian price on electricity and as long as the Labour Party is in power, we guarantee historically low fees for childcare, Støre announces and adds that they intend to introduce a 15-year age limit on social media.
