There is an imminent risk of a strawberry shortage on several farms in Skåne. Several growers tell P4 Malmöhus about "unripe, pale berries."
Even in western Sweden, a cold spring with many frosty nights has affected the ripening of the berries.
'Compared with midsummer last year, we have about half as many ripe strawberries,' says grower Jakob Lundin, who runs Rödsgubben, to Bohusläningen.
He believes that there will be strawberries in the region, but that prices will be higher.
Göteborgs-Posten and other media outlets have reported that a litre will cost close to 100 kronor.
