The incoming storm will put a good spin on the wind turbines, both in southern Sweden and in neighboring countries to the south.
This means that the electricity price will land around zero as an average over the Saturday day in the electricity area 4 (southern Götaland). Several hours, or quarters as the price is now measured in, will have negative prices on the electricity exchange Nord Pool.
Also in the country as a whole, the average price over the day is a few single öre per kilowatt hour (kWh).
Last time it looked roughly the same was on September 21 and August 5. On June 29, all of Sweden had negative prices as an average over the entire day, according to the market prices.
But for the electricity customer, it's not about any zero prices for the electricity. Electricity tax, VAT, electricity companies' surcharges and electricity grid companies' fees give a total electricity price well over one krona per kWh on top of the market price.
