The broad OMXS index fell 0.6 percent on Monday after rising just as much during the previous week. Among the stocks against the current, the defense group Saab was noted, up 4.5 percent, possibly as an effect of media reports that Canada would be interested in buying the Gripen fighter jet.
Among the losers were the mining company Boliden and the heat pump manufacturer Nibe, down 3.9 and 3.4 percent, respectively. The four major bank stocks lost between 0.9 and 1.6 percent.
During the night's Asian trade, most of the leading indexes rose. In Tokyo, the Nikkei index closed 0.8 percent up, which was a new record high.
On Monday evening, Swedish time, the next summit will be held to possibly stop Russia's war of aggression. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj and several of Western Europe's leaders will meet the US President as a follow-up to the meeting on Friday – something that may affect the world's stock exchanges.
In the currency market, the krona weakened slightly against the dollar, which cost 9.56 kronor at the close of trading. The euro became slightly cheaper and cost 11.15 kronor.
