The Stockholm Stock Exchange began Monday's trading with rising prices, but the rise in the broad OMXS index was moderate and stopped at 0.2 percent.

Last Friday, it was mostly negative, both in Europe and the US. During overnight Asian trading, the leading indices fell, with Tokyo and Hong Kong both falling 1.3 percent.

The best performer among the heavyweights in the OMXS30 index in Stockholm was mining company Boliden, up 1.9 percent. Also among the winners were telecom and internet operators Tele2 and Telia, which rose 1.5 and 1.0 percent respectively.

Some of the engineering giants fell. Ball bearing company SKF lost 2.0 percent and truck manufacturer Volvo fell 0.4 percent.

Among the slightly smaller companies, the caller ID service Truecaller plummeted almost 21 percent after the company flagged falling advertising revenue this morning.

The krona weakened slightly. At the close of trading, one dollar cost 9.28 kronor and one euro cost 10.91 kronor.

On the leading European stock exchanges in Frankfurt, London and Paris, the arrows mostly pointed upwards. The FTSE index in London performed best, up just over 1 percent.
