Tre Kronor trained briefly the day after their opening loss to Canada, 3–5, in the World Cup. Denmark awaits on Sunday. First-team player Ivar Stenberg did not take part in training.
"No problem, he'll play tomorrow. Sometimes you might need a little rest," says national team captain Sam Hallam about Stenberg's absence.
Carl Grundström, Philadelphia, will join the team against Denmark - however, it is clear that there will be no reinforcements from Minnesota.
Goalkeepers Jesper Wallstedt and Filip Gustavsson and forward Marcus Johansson were available; however, defenseman Jonas Brodin and center Joel Eriksson-Ek are injured.
We have been in contact with them, and they are worn out, and there are a few other things, so they will not come in, says Hallam.
Leo Carlsson, Anaheim, would have been a dream signing, but he will sign a huge contract this summer and therefore the chance of him making it to the World Cup is small.
We are checking the situation with the guys who have gone out. Leo has just finished playing and there is a contract situation that could get in the way. Then we don't know if he is fresh, says Sam Hallam.
