In late April, SpaceX secured an option to buy Anysphere. A month later, US media reported that the space company had decided to buy Anysphere within a month of its IPO, which took place on Friday.
On Tuesday, SpaceX finally announced that the deal was complete. SpaceX expects the merger to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
The purchase price, equivalent to SEK 563 billion, was significantly higher than the approximately SEK 275 billion that Anysphere had been valued at in a financing round last year.
San Francisco-based Anysphere has developed the AI assistant Cursor, which helps programmers with natural language commands.
Breakit reports, citing Forbes, that Lunnemark was estimated to hold 4.5 percent of the shares last fall. If that figure is still correct, it means that Lunnemark will receive just over SEK 25 billion for his shares.
