The Social Democratic Party's party leader Magdalena Andersson directs harsh criticism at the Swedish government's handling of Israel's actions in Gaza. I want Sweden's government to raise its voice, she says in her speech on the first day of Järvaveck.

Ulf Kristersson has ended up in another group, he now stands there together with Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and Viktor Orbán. It's not the group Sweden should belong to, says Andersson. A large part of the criticism has to do with the fact that Sweden is still one of the few countries that have not resumed aid to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees Unrwa. The government's defense is that they have increased support to other organizations. The other organizations do not receive their support unless Unrwa functions. They are completely dependent on Unrwa's distribution channels. It is they who have the infrastructure and logistics to get aid to Gaza, says Andersson to TT after the speech.

Let go of the prestige

It has become a matter of prestige now. It is time to let go of that and resume support, she says to the prime minister. Andersson also directed criticism in her speech against Israel's government handling of the emergency aid waiting outside the Gaza border. How can Netanyahu and his ministers sleep at night? The Netanyahu who, just like many Hamas leaders, is internationally wanted for crimes against humanity, she says.

Higher pensions

The speech then turned to Sweden and she talked about the high food prices, gang crime and those who today have it tough financially, where she wants to abolish the deduction and raise pensions. We will not prioritize, as this government does, to lower the tax for those with the highest incomes by thousands of kronor every month. Then you have room for other things in the budget, she says to TT about how the measures would be financed. In connection with Andersson stepping onto the stage, she was met by climate activists who were shortly thereafter escorted away by security personnel.
