The newspaper has previously reported that the humanitarian department of the aid agency Sida has asked the management to pay out 30 million kronor to Unrwa – said to be the organization that can provide the best and most efficient support in Gaza – but was refused with reference to the government's policy.
Sida does not even dare to respond to an emergency appeal to raise more funds for the population in Gaza Strip, citing the government's policy. This raises questions about the minister's performance. Therefore, it is essential that the Constitutional Committee investigates him and the management of Sida, says Member of Parliament Laila Naraghi (S) to DN.
Israel has cut ties with Unrwa and in December 2024, the government abolished the so-called core support to the UN agency. Support to Gaza will go through other organizations instead.
According to DN, Sweden is the only country in the EU to stop supporting Unrwa.
Dousa says he works day and night to get Swedish aid to Gaza.
"We would have liked to cooperate with the Social Democrats to put more pressure on Israel. It's not through party-political games that more children in Gaza get help, it's through us acting strongly and jointly. Now it's up to the Constitutional Committee to investigate the matter", writes Dousa to DN.
