The Social Democratic Party's electoral committee proposes three new ordinary names in the party leadership), the executive committee (VU). Two former ministers will step back and become substitutes.

The new names proposed are the law and order spokesperson Teresa Carvalho, the climate policy spokesperson Anna-Caren Sätherberg, and the former substitute Lena Hallengren in the Riksdag.

Morgan Johansson, former Minister of Justice, and Ardalan Shekarabi, former Minister of Social Security, are proposed to leave their seats and instead become substitutes.

The reason is, according to the election committee's chairman Britt Bohlin, the ordinary VU today consists of two women and five men.

We don't think that's good from a gender equality perspective, she says.

Should the men consider themselves fired?

Absolutely not. It's a structural change we've made.

VU consists of seven ordinary members with party leader Magdalena Andersson at the helm, and seven substitutes.

As a new substitute, the municipal councilor Jonas Attenius is proposed.

It's very important to get different voices, says Bohlin.

Jonas from Gothenburg is an important representative for the municipal sector, in addition to representing the second city of Svea Rike.

Former Minister of Civil Affairs Micko, today an ordinary member, and former Minister of Infrastructure Tomas Eneroth, today a substitute, are leaving VU.

VU and the party board are elected at the party congress in Gothenburg on May 28 to June 1.
