Young people need to get this positive start to their working life. If you leave high school and end up in long-term unemployment, it affects you for the rest of your life, we know through research, says S's labour market policy spokesperson Ardalan Shekarabi at a press conference.
The proposal is part of the party's response to the government's spring budget, where 250 million was invested in summer jobs for young people. The entire S spring motion will be presented next week.
Shekarabi also sees collaborations with the business sector and the non-profit sector ahead to create the intended jobs.
The investment would provide 45,000 job opportunities, claims party leader Magdalena Andersson.
45,000 opportunities to get that first, important line on your CV, she says.
Moreover, S wants to invest 500 million kronor in enabling more young people to obtain a driver's license.
Magdalena Andersson also takes the opportunity to criticize the government's economic policy and points out that unemployment is rising.
The government often talks about an employment line, but in practice, their policy is a benefits line, she says.
