The S Congress in Gothenburg has elected a new executive committee (VU). In addition to S leader Magdalena Andersson and party secretary Tobias Baudin, it now consists of Lena Hallengren, group leader for S in the Riksdag, Teresa Carvalho, legal policy spokesperson, and Anna-Caren Sätherberg, climate and environmental policy spokesperson.

LO chairman Johan Lindholm and the party's economic policy spokesperson Mikael Damberg have also been sitting there since before.

The VU consists of seven ordinary members and seven alternates.

New alternate becomes Jonas Attenius, chairman of the municipal council in Gothenburg.

In the reshuffle, Morgan Johansson, former Minister of Justice, and Ardalan Shekarabi, former Minister of Social Insurance, become alternates in the VU. They had previously held ordinary seats. According to the chairman of the electoral committee Britt Bohlin, the change is made, among other things, to achieve a more even gender distribution.
