The program hosts Keyyo and Edvin Törnblom will begin the second semifinal of Melodifestivalen in Gothenburg this evening by paying tribute to the victims of the mass shooting on Tuesday and their relatives.
We will start by addressing the events with our program hosts sending love to Örebro, simply, says Anders Wistbacka to TT.
No Manifestation
The segment was missing during Friday's rehearsals at Scandinavium, but will be completed during the day before the live broadcast.
SVT decided early on after the events in Örebro to try to carry out the semifinal without any large manifestations for the victims.
It's not the kind of program we should do. It requires special competence to make that kind of segment in such situations, and I think we don't have that competence, says Wistbacka.
"Great Entertainment"
He thinks that Melodifestivalen does more good as a respite in a troubled world.
We do great entertainment, singing and dancing on stage. Trying to find the right tone in such situations is extremely difficult, and it would be overwhelming for us to try.
It's better to do what we're good at, great entertainment.
Besides the competing artists, including Klara Hammarström and Erik Segerstedt, there will also be interval acts featuring names like Glenn Hysén, Brandsta City Släckers, Lotta Engberg, and Triple & Touch, as well as Marcus & Martinus.
Will the audience at Scandinavium notice any increased security due to what happened?
We always adapt to the prevailing security situation in Sweden. And we're doing that naturally now too. But exactly what we do and don't do, I won't say. Because then it's not a security effort.
