SMHI has issued a yellow warning for snowfall in parts of Halland and Västra Götaland counties. The weather has caused traffic problems during the afternoon and evening, mainly due to the roads becoming slippery.

"We have had a large number of traffic accidents here during the day and evening," says Magnus Schildt, press spokesperson for the police in Region West.

A few people have been injured, but none of the accidents are considered serious, according to the police.

In the Alingsås area, a car has driven off the road and collided with a tree. On Highway 40 in Härryda municipality, several cars were involved in an accident earlier this afternoon. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. On Highway 40 outside Gothenburg, mile-long queues formed, as about ten vehicles were involved in a series of accidents.

"We have been able to get through, but our response times will, of course, be longer," says Schildt.

Several traffic accidents have also occurred in the Jönköping area. In the afternoon, a timber truck collided with a passenger car and one person was taken away by ambulance, according to the police.

"It has been slippery and snowy, and there have been traffic problems, and it is clear that the winter weather is part of it," says Angelica Forsberg, press spokesperson for the police in the Eastern Region.

Skåne had a night with around fifty traffic incidents, according to P4 Malmöhus, and in the morning a plow truck caught fire on the E65, which meant that traffic was blocked at Skurup. SMHI's previous warnings for snowfall in Skåne, one of which was orange, have been lifted.
