SKF has entered into an agreement with Chinese component manufacturer Leaderdrive to form a joint venture in China.
“The collaboration, which targets the industrial humanoid robot segment, gives us the flexibility needed to adapt to rapid changes in the market,” says Henry Wang, SKF's China manager, in a press release.
The company is expected to begin operations at the end of 2026.
“As the humanoid robot industry with embodied AI continues to grow, a stable supply of reliable core transmission components becomes a crucial competitive advantage,” said Leaderdrive CEO Yuyu Zuo.
SKF's share rises by 5 percent on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
