A scandal, thinks The Liberals in Skåne. A significantly deeper analysis is needed, believes The Social Democrats.

The proposal by Svenska Kraftnät to leave the electricity price areas in Sweden unchanged receives harsh criticism from many players, both electricity producers and customers, as well as from certain political quarters.

Especially from southern Sweden, with the highest electricity prices in the country, angry comments are forthcoming.

A scandal that reinforces the injustices, is how the Liberals in Skåne describe the proposal.

"Svenska Kraftnät's message that the current division into electricity price areas is to remain unchanged is a blow to Skåne and southern Sweden", writes the Liberals in region Skåne in a comment.

The Social Democrats' energy policy spokesperson, Fredrik Olovsson, says in a written comment to TT that "a much deeper analysis is needed, particularly regarding the consequences for Swedish households and companies".

He also demands that the government takes decisive action towards German politicians. There is a proposal from Svenska Kraftnät's sister organizations on the continent to divide the German electricity market into several electricity areas (from the current single one), which would, among other things, benefit electricity prices in southern Sweden. However, the incoming German government has not shown any such interest.
