This is stated in a message on SJ's customer website.
The traffic affected is, as before, the express trains between Sundsvall and Umeå, as well as the night trains between Stockholm and Luleå/Narvik. The reason is the large amounts of rain that have fallen in Västernorrland and put parts of the railway under water.
The entire county is not affected - it is possible to travel to Sundsvall.
Yesterday, SJ announced to its travelers that the trains would be cancelled until Thursday this week. Now the period has been extended by four days.
At the same time, SJ trains are blocked for further booking until and including Thursday, September 18. This is because the traffic stop may be extended.
So far, individual departures have been replaced with buses.
But it's extremely difficult to get hold of buses now. All operators are affected by the same thing, so there is competition for the buses, says Johannes Cleris, press strategist and communicator at SJ.
From the Swedish Transport Administration, there is still no forecast for when the train traffic can be restored, says Peter Jonsson, press communicator. The hope is, however, that they can provide clearer information soon.
The water has receded and we have been able to start inspecting with much greater scope than before, he says.
