The German vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz reports a net profit of 1.7 billion euro for the third quarter of the year. This is a profit decrease of 54 percent compared to the net profit of 3.7 billion during the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
The profit decrease was deeper than feared. The average forecast was 1.9 billion euro.
The turnover in the third quarter fell 7 percent to 34.5 billion euro.
