I'm really happy with my race. It's a bit disappointing that there are two Norwegians who are shooting full speed, but I'm really happy with my performance, he tells SVT.
Samuelsson won the single mixed relay together with Ella Halvarsson on Sunday. It was a third place finish for the men's team in the relay. And in Wednesday's distance race it was a new podium finish for the in-form 28-year-old. With a total of one miss, Samuelsson came third.
“Found a flow”
I have found that flow and trust what I do, and don't think too much about how the result in the competition goes or anything, but I focus on taking one shot at a time and it's working right now, says Samuelsson.
The winner of the day was Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn, who made 20 of 20 shots. The 26-year-old was cut from the Norwegian World Cup team last season and had to compete in the lower-ranked IBU Cup.
Botn's compatriot Martin Uldal came in second, also with zero errors.
Nelin sex
Jesper Nelin had a strong performance with a boom and finished in a solid sixth place.
"A very nice start to the season, I must say," says Nelin.
Martin Ponsiluoma had more difficulty shooting and missed four times.
I'm still quite happy. Nine hits in the lying position, I'm very happy with that today. After the first standing there I would have taken care of the last hurdle a little more but otherwise I'm happy with the day and think it's exactly the right direction, says Ponsiluoma, who finishes outside the top 20.
Brandt shot himself away
Malte Stefansson started well and shot full in the competition's two opening rounds. However, in the third and fourth rounds, there were two misses in each round and the 25-year-old finished with a total of four misses. Viktor Brandt had a tough competition with a total of five misses.
The next competition for the men will be a sprint on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The women will run their sprint on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
