It was when Jonas Attenius and a co-worker were recording a clip for social media at Klippan's steamboat pier in the Majorna district that a man nearby began to act aggressively and threateningly.
He screams, "You fucking traitor, what the hell are you doing on the dock, you fucking scumbag, go to hell! Now you're fucking going into the water!", Attenius tells Göteborgs-Posten.
This was the first time I thought: Now it's over, now it's over, he continues.
Jomshof shared Attenius clip
In an interview with SVT News, Attenius points out that SD leader Richard Jomshof earlier on Saturday shared a video clip of Attenius on X, which Jomshof commented on with "Social Democratic treason, in its purest form."
I don't think Jomshof wants physical violence against me, but we politicians must realize that our words carry power, Jonas Attenius tells SVT.
The incident was brought up in tonight's prime minister's debate between Magdalena Andersson (S) and Ulf Kristersson (M). When TT asks Magdalena Andersson about the threat after the debate, she says:
Do we want a party that uses this type of epithet against people who don't think like them to become ministers and be able to use their platforms as ministers to spread that form of hatred? Or should we choose another path?
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson told TT after the debate that it is "absolutely terrible if people are threatened in Swedish politics."
Regarding Jomshof's comment, he replies that he has not seen it.
But if it's true, it's also absolutely terrible, says Kristersson.
SD denies connection
SD denies the connection between the incident and Jomshof's comment on X.
"Magdalena Andersson has spent almost the entire election campaign talking about us, often with completely incomprehensible attacks. Drawing parallels like this to us is just stupid. I don't think it impresses the voters," says Oskar Cavalli Björkman, press officer for the Sweden Democrats, to SVT.
