But the Left Party presents a completely different picture. It is not at all true that V would stay away.
That is completely wrong, says a senior V representative, claiming that there is ongoing contact and that V does not really understand what S wants to achieve by saying that V is avoiding meetings.
"We have said that we would like to meet," he adds.
Magdalena Andersson's mission to try to form a government has so far, after a week, yielded no known results. S and V should have a lot to discuss if there is to be a red-green government with the Green Party and support from C.
And on Monday, a new speaker will be elected, when the new Riksdag convenes.
Support Norlén
V is considering supporting the current speaker, Andreas Norlén of the Moderates, if M nominates him. A joint red-green candidate has not yet been identified.
So far, the only party that has said anything publicly about the speaker election is the Social Democrats. S sees it as out of the question that the current speaker, the Moderate Andreas Norlén, will remain in office. As the largest party in the Riksdag and leader of the Riksdag majority, S believes it has priority for the position. If V chooses to support Norlén, S will likely lose the post.
S describes Norlén as too moderate and not the right man to lead the process for Sweden to get a new government.
According to TT's information, M is expected to make an announcement regarding the Speaker's Question on Sunday.
The newly elected Speaker will receive information about the progress of Magdalena Andersson's efforts to form a government immediately after the speaker election. He or she will then decide how much more time Andersson can be given.

The Left Party and party leader Nooshi Dadgostar have been under pressure over the past week because of reports of suspected election fraud in Borlänge surrounding the elected MP Mohamed Ali.
But when Magdalena Andersson was tasked with trying to form a government, V and Dadgostar made it clear that they did not intend to enter into any negotiations about substantive policy without knowing what the government that would back it would look like. V is demanding to be included in the government so that Magdalena Andersson can receive the party's support to be elected prime minister.
