The issue led to heated emotions last summer when restaurants were rejected citing a ruling by the Court of Appeal in Gothenburg. But one of the restaurants appealed to the Court of Appeal in Stockholm – and was successful, reports Mitt i Stockholm .
The ruling in Gothenburg was indicative and affected restaurants and outdoor seating throughout the country. With the new ruling, it opens up the way for Stockholm restaurants, but since neither party will appeal to the highest court, it is still unclear what applies in the rest of the country.
Now we have a new practice to follow and have no reason to test it in a higher instance, says Alexander Ojanne (S), social and security councilor in Stockholm, to the newspaper.
