The American R'n'B singer Angela Bofill is dead, write American media.
She passed away on Thursday at her daughter's home in California, according to a spokesperson for the artist.
Angela Bofill was born in 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, with Cuban and Puerto Rican roots.
She made her album debut in 1978 with "Angie", which included the hit single "This Time I'll Be Sweeter", and she is counted as one of the first successful R'n'B artists with Latin American origins.
During her career, she recorded ten studio albums and also sang backing vocals for other artists such as Diana Ross and Kirk Whalum.
