Last Friday, the deadline for registering parties for the autumn elections expired. A total of 416 different parties have registered, according to the Election Authority. 165 for the parliamentary elections, 173 for the regional elections and 380 for the municipal elections.

This can be compared with the 2022 election, when 103 parties took part in the parliamentary elections, 130 in the regional elections and 328 in the municipalities.

Among the parties are 99 Balloons, the Naturist Party, JESUS, the Forest People, the Evil Chicken Party, the Trist Democrats and the Quisling Party.

Parties that are not registered may not take part in the allocation of seats. A vote for a party that is not registered is also invalid.

According to the Election Authority, the figures may change slightly, as the decisions have not yet entered into force. Four late-arriving cases are also being processed.
