An appeals court in the American state of Georgia has decided to disqualify prosecutor Fani Willis from the legal process regarding Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
Thus, almost nothing remains of the legal process that was to investigate Trump's involvement in attempting to influence the election results in the state. The process had previously been put on hold ahead of the presidential election held in November.
Trump had appealed an earlier decision allowing Willis to lead the legal process – which the appeals court accepted.
The case in the state was considered one of the clearest legal processes against President-elect Trump, as there is evidence in the form of a recorded phone call where Trump asks the state's election official to "find" votes for him to win.
District Attorney Willis herself got into trouble due to her previous relationship with a special investigator in the case, a man who has now quit. The Trump side claims, among other things, that Willis drew financial benefits from the romance and that it undermines her credibility.
