According to the newspaper, the website Flightradar noted about a week ago a significant increase in GPS disruptions in the Baltic Sea – including Gotland and parts of Öland.
The Defence Forces have good knowledge of what is going on in our immediate area and continuously follow the development of the security situation, says Marie Tisäter, communicator at the Defence Forces, to the newspaper.
Russia's Baltic exclave Kaliningrad has previously been pointed out as responsible for the disruptions over the Baltic Sea that have recurred over a long time.
Gotland's defence director Alf Söderman says to Expressen that the disruptions primarily affect air traffic east of Gotland, but that "shipping can be slightly affected depending on where you are".
