Last year's weak potato harvest has put the brakes on potato sellers this year – which could create problems before Midsummer, reports Aftonbladet.

According to Roger Nolsa, chairman of Potato Farmers, a strong interest in the tubers has been noted. Potato farmers are seeing a greater demand than supply – and there is a risk that this will continue.

Until Midsummer, a lot can happen, but the prognosis is that it will be tougher for sellers to get hold of the desired volumes. If it actually leads to a shortage of potatoes in stores, that's another matter, Nolsa says.
