On Sunday morning, Poland’s Interior Ministry announced that police had received information about a potential plot to attack Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Shortly afterward, the country’s security services met in Warsaw.
"We take this deadly seriously," said Jacek Dobrzynski, spokesman for the minister responsible for coordinating the security services, after the meeting.
According to Dobrzynski, this was a threat that "with high probability" could have been carried out.
In the afternoon, both Tusk and Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski said that a suspect had been arrested, without providing further details.
The news comes after a violent week in Poland, with three separate attacks at schools.
